What's on the Local Eats guide right now (Garapan)

The Local Eats section of the guide covers Garapan so far — resident picks, organized by cuisine, no paid placements. Here’s what’s live right now:

Korean

  • Nam Dae Moon — dolsot bibimbap plus braised short ribs is the combo order, don’t leave without trying both.

Chinese

  • Majesty Chinese Restaurant — the finer sit-down meal, authentic-tasting, priced like it.
  • Guangzhou Restaurant — cheaper than Majesty but still tastes good, the pick when you don’t want the fine-dining bill.
  • New Shin Restaurant — the spicy Sichuan noodles are the reason to come.

Japanese

  • Himawari Restaurant — still the default Japanese spot in Garapan, solid for the standards, though longtime regulars will tell you it was more authentic in years past.

Filipino (turo-turo)

  • D’Elegance Cafe — the full turo-turo experience, point at what you want from the steam table.
  • Kanto Diyes — the spot for Filipino-style inasal, chicken marinated in calamansi, annatto, and lemongrass, grilled over charcoal.

Worth the short drive (Gualo Rai)

  • Kuriya Japanese Cuisine & Pub — very small and super authentic, worth leaving Garapan for.

Gualo Rai as its own full area page is still coming — Kuriya’s the one entry there so far.
