Micro Beach — the first beach live on the guide

Micro Beach is Garapan’s in-town beach and one of Saipan’s largest — currently the only fully published landmark on the guide (everything else is still going through an accuracy review before it’s marked final).

The basics: free, open daily, right in Garapan. A paved path connects it to American Memorial Park, Smiling Cove Marina, and Eloy S. Inos Peace Park — good for a walk or run beyond just the beach itself.

A few resident notes from the guide’s locals’ layer:

  • Parking: don’t circle the small beach lot — American Memorial Park’s much bigger lot is right next door, there’s space alongside the Hyatt, and both sides of Beach Road allow street parking.
  • Weekends are the full local scene — tents, coolers, and grills on the sand from morning on. Go on a weekday if you want it mostly to yourself.
  • Water shoes help — parts of the sand and seabed run to sand-and-stones.
  • The water’s safe to swim and locals are in it daily — any visible storm debris along the tree line (leftover from the recent typhoons) is a cleanup-in-progress thing, not a water-quality issue.
